English Courtyard Developments Ltd
project: The restoration
of an 18th century Grade II Listed oak framed barn that is the centrepiece
of an award-winning retirement housing scheme.
English Courtyard, a leading developer of high quality
retirement housing, appointed Osmer Building to restore the traditional
18th century Grade II Listed Hampshire barn that forms the centrepiece
of this development. Restoration of the barn was a decisive aspect
in gaining planning consent for the overall development and also
forms a central focus and communal area for the residents to enjoy.
The timber frame barn required
extensive restoration and was repaired by our skilled craftsmen,
resulting in the preservation of an outstanding example of historical
architecture that enhanced the character of the entire site. In
2003 St Peters Close was awarded the Daily Mail Greenleaf Award
for the best retirement development.
